About the Producers
Banko Gotiti is a near-mythical forest in Gedeb’s Kochore woreda, within the Gedeo Zone—a Yirgacheffe origin long idealized by coffee buyers. It borders Guji’s Hambella Wamena, home to other celebrated subregions. For 12 seasons, consistent quality from Gedeb had been elusive—until the Eva washing station in Gotiti changed that. Owned by Biniam and managed by Abenezer, Eva now delivers A+ results.
What makes this coffee stand out
The Gedeo Zone in southern Ethiopia is a legendary coffee origin, renowned as the heart of Yirgacheffe. Here, coffee is grown in lush, forested highlands at elevations between 1,800 and 2,200 meters. Farmers interplant their heirloom varieties with other food crops. This unique agroforestry approach and elevation nurtures exceptional bean density, resulting in washed and natural coffees famous for their floral aroma and a delicate, tea-like body.
