About the Producer
Edwin Noreña is a 3rd-generation coffee producer at Finca Campo Hermoso, a trained agronomist, certified Q-grader, and sought-after Cup of Excellence judge — a rare combination of inherited craft and formal expertise.
Quality and repeatability are his hallmarks. Edwin has developed an extraordinary following for his mastery in fermentation and co-fermentation, borrowing techniques from the wine and beer industries to build recipes with an everlasting sweetness. His ultimate goal: to make coffee approachable enough that you don't need a professionally trained palate to find what's in the cup.
Why this coffee stands out
This Campo Hermoso lot captures Edwin's signature precision at its most expressive. The Sudan Rume variety brings inherent brightness and a delicate floral structure, while the black honey process and Enigma Hops co-fermentation layer in tropical fruit complexity and a creamy, lingering sweetness.
Expect creamy aromatics on the nose, piña colada and key lime in the body, and peach candy on a clean, extended finish. The cup keeps unfolding as it cools — every sip reveals something new. Bold and expressive, yet structured and refined.
First cupped in August 2024 and brought to the 2025 competition menu, this is a coffee that raises expectations.
