Roaster of the Year Winning Single Origin Box Set (Light Roasts)

Taste the coffees that earned us the 2026 Roaster of the Year award.

This box features two exceptional single origins that were part of our winning submission to Roast Magazine: Edinson Argote’s Sidra Thermal Shock Washed from Colombia and the Layo Teraga Cooperative’s Guji Washed from Ethiopia. Both coffees are light roasted, only available as whole beans.

Next roast Oct 21st 2025. Ships by Oct 24th 2025.

Colombia Edinson Argote – Sidra Thermal Shock Washed

Tastes like: Juicy passionfruit, Candied lychee, Jasmine petals

Region: Huila, Colombia | Varietal: Sidra | Processing: Thermal Shock Washed | Altitude: 1,850 MASL

Why This Coffee Stands Out

Sidra is a rare varietal grown at Quebraditas Coffee Farm in Huila, Colombia by Edinson Argote, a rising star in Colombia’s specialty coffee scene. After serving in the military, Edinson began working at his cousin’s washing station in Acevedo, where he discovered a passion for cupping and coffee quality. That early curiosity grew into a deep commitment, leading him to acquire Quebraditas with his partner Luz Angela.

Often compared to the celebrated Gesha varietal, Sidra is known for its floral, tea-like character and vibrant fruit notes—and has been featured in multiple World Barista Championship-winning routines. This lot underwent a Thermal Shock Washed process, a method that boosts clarity and complexity while unlocking an intensely fruit-forward profile.

Ethiopia Layo Teraga – Guji Washed

Tastes like: Yellow fig, apricot, lemon

Region: Oromia, Guji Zone, Ethiopia | Varietal: 74110 | Processing: Washed | Altitude: 2,342 MASL

Why This Coffee Stands Out

Nestled in Ethiopia’s highlands at 2,342 meters above sea level, the Layo Teraga Cooperative represents over 1,800 smallholder farmers in the Guji Zone. This meticulously crafted washed coffee captures Ethiopia’s signature clarity and vibrancy, with balanced sweetness and citrus brightness.

The cherries are hand-picked at peak ripeness, fermented for 12 days on raised beds, and washed clean to highlight the terroir’s natural elegance. The result is a cup that’s both lively and balanced, with lemony acidity and a silky mouthfeel.

About the Producers:

Founded in 1976, the Layo Teraga Cooperative provides market access and training to smallholder members in Guji, helping them achieve higher quality and better income stability. Their focus on precision and care has made Layo Teraga one of Ethiopia’s most respected cooperatives.

Our light roasts develop their best flavors after 2–3 weeks, peak around 4 weeks, and remain delicious for longer. For extended freshness, consider freezing the coffee to preserve its quality even longer.
