About the Producers
What makes this coffee stand out
This is the fifth year that we've roasted this coffee—the first time was in 2018—and we continue to be excited by the work of these 90 coffee farmers. Many Peruvian coffees that we roast come from this same area of the southern Cajamarca growing region, around the municipality of San Ignacio. This Las Damas lot has always impressed us.
It means a lot to us at Driftaway to support these women farmers. At least 70% of the coffee production workforce is made up of women farmers, however they don't always recieve the same resources as their male counterparts; such as access to land, capital, and education to run their businesses. At Driftaway we aim to source 50% of our contracts from women farms.
