About the Producers
What makes this coffee stand out
The coffee varietal Colombia can be traced back to the early 18th century, where it was first cultivated in Colombia and thrived in the ideal microclimates of the Andes mountains. This clean and sweet varietal is best known for its well-rounded profile. The Castillo varietal is a much more recent development, as it was cultivated in the early 2000s as a more disease-resistant and high-yielding varietal as compared to Typica and Bourbon heirlooms. These characteristics have made it a cornerstone of the industry's sustainability, fundamentally shaping modern Colombian coffee landscapes. Both varietals can be found in abundance amongst Colombia’s coffee-producing regions.
